A Vision
We are the descendants of Will and Annie Smith. They had nine children: Elizabeth, Dudley, Edward, Scobee, Norman, Ralph, Doris, Chuck, and Don. Edward died at age six, but the other eight lived to see their own grandchildren. Today we bury Don, the youngest, and the last of Will and Annie's immediate family.
Launching this web site today symbolizes our choice to stay connected as a family although the older generations are gone. We traditionally gather for reunions every two years, but since we live in a digital age, we have decided to create this online space to stay connected between those times. We envision this site as a place to share old photos and documents, maintain current contact information, and help plan our reunions.

What's Coming
Currently, this page describes some ideas we have discussed, to begin planning what we want to do with an online presence for our extended family. I look forward to your ideas and suggestions.
Here is what we hope to publish here once the site is fully functional:
- Announcements - News for the whole family, announcements of events, an archive of past announcements.
- Reunion Information - Our next reunion will be February 2010. As that time gets nearer, we will post all the relevent information. This time, the reunion will be planned by Phil Smith's (Dudley/Phil) daughters.
- Public Content - We have a lot of old photographs and written documents (autobiographies, old letters, etc.). We plan to digitize as much as possible, so it's easily accessible to us here and for future generations.
- Private Content - Our contact information: address, phone, email lists. Eventually, everyone will have their own password to access and change these.
I hope to make this a collaborative web site, where everyone can edit and update content. See the About This Site page for ways you can help and for technical details.
